Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Hits Home Run No. 8
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had a key home run in the third inning against Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Landon Knack to help the D-backs knock off their division rivals on Monday night by a score of 9-5. Gurriel finished the game 1-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk. His two-run homer extended Arizona's lead to 5-0 at the time and gave him four home runs in his last 15 games. Over his last 18 games, Gurriel is hitting .310 with a .421 wOBA and 41.7% hard-hit rate. He's also had eight barrels in those 18 games after just six barrels in his first 26 games. The 31-year-old is turning things around after a slow start and continues to hit in a premium lineup spot, especially against left-handed starting pitchers. He can be a solid pickup from waiver wires if you need solid all-around hitting contributions from an outfielder.
