Lonnie Walker IV Becomes Unexpected Hero Monday Night
2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard/forward Lonnie Walker IV emerged as a key player in Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors, pushing the team to a 104-101 victory with 15 fourth-quarter points. He went scoreless for the first three quarters before suddenly exploding and almost matching the entire Warriors team in scoring in the final frame, as Stephen Curry & Co. managed just 17 fourth-quarter points. Walker IV finished with 6-for-9 shooting, going 1-for-3 from deep, and he notched three rebounds with two assists and two steals. The 24-year-old had logged just 28 minutes in these playoffs before breaking into the rotation for Game 3 and logging 24 minutes. He was on the court for 27 minutes on Monday, and considering how well he played, even more minutes could be heading his way.
