Logan Thomas 2021 Outlook: Potential Late-Round Steal
4 years agoOne of the most surprising breakouts last season was tight end, Logan Thomas. In a tight end landscape that is full of traps and false hope, Thomas managed to be third at the position in both targets (110) and receptions (72). Additionally, despite the Football Team's carousel of quarterbacks last year, Thomas was the TE3 from weeks 5-17. This offseason, the Football Team brought in Curtis Samuel and drafted speedster Dyami Brown in the third round. Although these additions may take away some volume, both of these players possess dynamic abilities that open the field for the entire offense. Additionally, the team brought in veteran gunslinger Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is projected to start in 2021. Switching from the quartet of Alex Smith, Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, and Taylor Heinicke to Fitzpatrick is massive for this offense's fantasy potential. Thomas should be in line for another season of high volume with the added upside of Fitzpatrick slinging the rock. If you don't want to reach for a TE, Thomas could easily finish in the top-10 at the position and is one of my favorite late-round TE targets.
