Logan Gilbert Making Second Rehab Start Wednesday, Return to Mariners Looms
Logan Gilbert (elbow) is scheduled to make his second rehab start Wednesday at Cheney Stadium for Triple-A Tacoma. He tossed 1 1/3 innings of one-run ball in his first outing and is expected to show progress before the Mariners consider activating him from the injured list. The Mariners initially planned for at least two rehab appearances for Gilbert as he works his way back from a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right elbow. If all goes well, the 28-year-old could rejoin the rotation as early as next Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Glbert had made six starts, posting a stellar 2.37 ERA and 0.79 WHIP across 30 1/3 innings this season.
