Logan Cooley Debuts With Two Assists
1 year agoArizona Coyotes center Logan Cooley had a very productive regular-season debut in the NHL on Friday, delivering two power-play assists in a 4-3 shootout victory against New Jersey. The 19-year-old became the second-youngest player in franchise history to log multiple points in his debut. Cooley's line also included two shots, one block, two penalty minutes, and one hit. He had over five minutes of power-play time and logged 19:02 of total ice time. This was a great start to the season from the young Coyotes centerman, who is seen as one of the biggest challengers to No. 1 pick Connor Bedard in the battle for the Calder Trophy. The two are set to go head to head soon, with the Blackhawks visiting the Mullett Arena on Oct. 30.
