Lewis Brinson Struggles In His Start On Saturday
Lewis Brinson got the start in left field in Saturday's game against the Rays but did not do much with the opportunity. Despite being in a lineup that scored 12 runs, Brinson went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts. He was the only member of the starting lineup not to reach base. Don Mattingly chose to give Brinson and a few others a start in this one, since he couldn't do his "Sunday Special" lineup as the Marlins have a rare Sunday off day tomorrow. Brinson has yet to live up to even a small percentage of the expectations placed on him when he was a prospect. He'll return to the Marlins bench next week when the Marlins welcome the Cardinals to loanDepot park on Monday.
