Less-Than-Stellar Debut for Alexandar Georgiev
New York Rangers goaltender Alexandar Georgiev allowed seven goals on 39 shots as the Rangers fell to the Hurricanes on Sunday night. Georgiev's first game of the 2018-19 season will be remembered for all of the wrong reasons, including a minor penalty for tripping. If there was a bright spot to his night, it was that he stopped nine of nine shots from the Carolina power-play, neutralizing their man-advantage attack until an empty net goal sealed the game. Despite posting a .918 save percentage in very limited usage last season, Georgiev will be a risky option at best when he gets an occasional start.
