Leodalis De Vries Moves To No. 3 Overall On Latest Top Prospects List
Leodalis De Vries jumped 11 spots in MLB.com's latest prospect list refresh, from No. 14 overall to No. 3 overall. The Padres' top prospect is currently at High-A Fort Wayne and is having a good season so far, slashing .288/.375/.519 with a 12.4 percent walk rate, a .413 wOBA, and a 147 wRC+ through 27 games (121 PA). The 6-foot-1 slugger even hit for the cycle in a two-homer game in April, and he's doing all of this at only 18 years old. The switch-hitting prospect has an MLB ETA of 2027; however, showing such advanced skill at such a young age could get him there sooner than expected. With some speed on the basepaths as well, it's clear why he's one of the game's top prospects, and dynasty managers will need to look at stashing him away at the earliest opportunity.
