Latavius Murray Scores Only Touchdown In Loss To Jets
2 years agoDenver Broncos running back Latavius Murray was out-carried 11 to eight by Melvin Gordon III in the 16-9 loss to the New York Jets in Week 7, but he scored the team's only offensive touchdown in the first half on a goal-line carry. Murray ultimately finished with 24 yards on his eight totes and caught two of his three targets for minus-one yard in the passing game. The 32-year-old veteran now has 23 carries in his first two starts for Denver in 2022 and will continue to share backfield touches with Gordon moving forward in what has been the NFL's worst offense based on points per game through seven weeks. Even if quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) returns for a Week 8 game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Murray will be nothing more than a touchdown-dependent, low-floor RB3/flex.
