Landen Roupp Shuts Out the Padres on Tuesday
Landen Roupp (3-4) was excellent on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres, throwing 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball. He allowed four hits, two walks, and struck out five. He threw 63 of his 93 pitches for strikes, and for the second time this season, recorded an out past the sixth inning. Unfortunately for Roupp, Giants closer Camilo Doval blew the 2-0 lead in the ninth inning, and the Padres went on to win 3-2 in the tenth inning. His season ERA now sits at 3.18, and he is starting to establish himself as a reliable MLB starter. At this point, fantasy managers can continue to deploy Roupp in their starting lineups until he proves otherwise. Roupp would be on regular rest for Sunday's game against Atlanta if Justin Verlander is not activated from the injured list.
