Kyrie Irving Struggles From Deep in Loss to Cavs
7 years agoBoston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving fell to his former team on Sunday despite the big night for Celtics legend Paul Pierce, as he had his jersey retired. The revamped Cavs lineup shut down a struggling Celtics offense. Irving scored 18 points but shot only 1-for-7 from downtown. He dished five assists but was quiet in terms of defensive stats, as has been the case since his unsustainable first month. February has not been kind to the All-Star point guard, as he’s shooting only 27.8 percent from downtown. Trust in Celtics head coach Brad Stevens to guide his team to consistency and look for Irving to find his three-point stroke for the stretch run.
