Kyle Tucker Could Hit Third
9 months agoHouston Astros manager Joe Espada said that he's considering hitting outfielder Kyle Tucker third behind outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez this year. Their ability to handle left-handed pitchers factors in, but so does third baseman Alex Bregman's ability to hit with runners in scoring position in the cleanup spot. Tucker still hit in the third-hole 37 percent of the time last year and hit 13 of his 29 home runs with a .938 OPS in that spot, so we think he'll be just fine there more often in 2024. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter is a top-five overall fantasy player after making the All-Star team each of the last two seasons. Tucker has hit .278/.353/.517 with an .870 OPS, 89 home runs, 311 RBI and 69 stolen bases in the last three years combined. He's a beast.
