Kyle Larson Salvages Day Despite Early Issues
2 years agoKyle Larson was one of the odds-on favorites to back up his 2022 Auto Club Superspeedway victory at the final race of this configuration, but electrical issues would put him behind the wall for repairs. At Lap 13, Larson reported the issues and the Hendrick Motorsports team took the car to the garage to make repairs. Larson returned to the race down 17 laps, but he was able to continue in hopes to take advantage if other cars wrecked out. The Stage 2 stack-up helped Larson to leapfrog some of the other drivers, and when Ty Dillon and Bubba Wallace had engine issues, Larson moved ahead of them. It wasn't the finish the team expected to start the day, but given the early problems, they will be happy with 185 laps completed and a 29th-place finish.
