Kyle Larson is a student of the game and a quick learner. What he has learned over the last season and change, he is applying versus the field. Again, he proved on Sunday that the No. 5 is a force to be reckoned with anywhere. Larson used his ability on long runs to save his tires enough to hold off Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. His win at Watkins Glen was the second on a road course this year and fifth win overall. With that victory, the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver now is tied atop the points standings with Denny Hamlin. Larson held off a hard-charging Chase Elliott by just over two seconds but did it with ease. Elliott may have had that the faster car but Larson was by far the smarter driver on Sunday and it showed.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
