Kyle Freeland Turns in Quality Start in Colorado
Kyle Freeland left the game with the lead after six innings of solid work against the Giants, but the bullpen couldn't hold on to earn him a victory. The lefty allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts, but he only gave up one run over his last five innings of work after giving up a two-run homer to Willy Adames in the first. Freeland lowered his ERA to 5.13 on the season, but his 3.64 FIP and 3.99 SIERA show he has pitched a little better than his ERA indicates. He has four quality starts in his last six starts, but is only 1-3 due to a lack of run support. He'll hope for a better outcome next Monday, when he is scheduled to take the mound in Washington against the Nationals.
