Kyle Freeland Takes Hard Luck Loss
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland brought back his 2018 stuff on Wednesday and held the Nationals to just one unearned run in six innings of work. He still got saddled with the loss since his offense failed to score any runs, but it was certainly a shock to see Freeland's improvement. Freeland only allowed four hits and got four strikeouts on the day, but his highlight-reel moment actually happened after he was done. Freeland was ejected in the seventh inning, after he'd been pulled, for yelling at the home plate umpire from the dugout. This is the first good start Freeland has made in over two months, so owners probably shouldn't rush out to buy him just yet. He's next slated to get the Dodgers in Colorado, and nobody wants to start him for that game.
