Kyle Freeland Signs Five-Year Deal With Rockies

The Colorado Rockies have signed starting pitcher Kyle Freeland to a five-year contract worth $64.5 million. The contract also includes a sixth-year player option. The 28-year-old is off to a rough start to the 2022 season. He's made two starts and he's allowed exactly five earned runs in each of them. As a result, he has an ugly 10.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP on the young season. We'll see if he can turn things around in his next start, which will be on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
