Kyle Freeland Hoping To Start On Saturday
3 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland (hamstring), who left his start on Monday with a right hamstring cramp, is throwing at 120 feet and is working to make his next start on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Freeland is sporting an ugly 6.54 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 26/13 K/BB in seven starts this year over 31 2/3 innings pitched. However, he had tossed five shutout innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday before leaving that outing and had only allowed one run while striking out seven in six innings against the Seattle Mariners in his start prior. The Cardinals have been struggling offensively of late, but Freeland still makes for a risky streamer if he ends up making the start.
