6 years agoIt's looking like the Chicago Cubs will get third baseman Kris Bryant (shoulder) back before the end of the month. "I expect the same impact I’ve always had,’’ said Bryant, who spent Thursday tracking pitches after taking light swings earlier in the week for the first time since last month. "I’m just going to go out there and be myself, and I know that’s pretty good to me." However, manager Joe Maddon implied that Bryant may not be 100 percent when he returns. Bryant thinks he'll be ready to rejoin the team after "three or four" rehab games. His next step is to take batting practice on the field. Bryant's fantasy owners want him back as soon as possible. He's hitting .276 on the year but has just 11 homers and 44 RBI because of all the missed time.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
