The Stanley Cup-winning Tampa Bay Lightning knew that they stood to lose a good player in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft and the club watched the Seattle Kraken nab Yanni Gourde on Wednesday. The versatile forward could settle in as the club's first-line center. Last season, he scored 17 goals and recorded 36 points while average more than 17 minutes per game over 56 contests. The 29-year-old has twice scored more than 20 goals in a season and recorded a career-high 64 points during the 2017-18 season. Gourde scored six goals during the 2020-21 playoffs but clearly wasn't at his best. It was announced yesterday that he recently underwent shoulder surgery and will be sidelined for about four months. He has four years remaining on his contract with a $5.17 AAV.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
