7 months agoOakland Athletics outfielder Khris Davis (hip) left the game early on Tuesday with what the A's are calling lingering effects from his hip contusion. The 31-year-old just can't seem to shake his hip injury, so there's an increasing likelihood that he'll need to go on the injured list. Davis grounded out meagerly in his only plate appearance on Tuesday and is hitting .248 with 12 home runs and 29 RBI on the season. It makes sense for the A's to play it cautiously and sideline him for a while. If Davis does miss extended time, Mark Canha should benefit the most from added playing time out of the designated hitter spot in Oakland.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
