Kerryon Johnson Gets Four Touches in Dress Rehearsal
6 years agoDetroit Lions rookie running back Kerryon Johnson, the team's second-round pick, was the third running back to receive a carry behind LeGarrette Blount, who started, and Ameer Abdullah, who was second in line out of the Lions backfield on Friday night. Overall, Johnson acquitted himself nicely, gaining 25 yards on his four carries (zero targets), bringing him to a total of 68 yards on 15 carries and 43 yards on five catches through three preseason games. The Auburn product is the clear back to own in this backfield heading into the regular season, but the goal-line presence of Blount, and Theo Riddick factoring in on third downs puts a hard cap on his upside in his rookie season.
