Keone Kela Suffers Setback
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates reliever Keone Kela (shoulder) has been put on the shelf for at least 10 days after feeling recurrent discomfort in his right shoulder and has been pulled from his rehab assignment. He made just one appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis during the assignment, allowing three runs on three hits in an inning of work. The 26-year-old went on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 6) due to right shoulder inflammation. Kela, who has blown four saves, has struggled this season, as his strikeout rate (22 percent) is a career low and his home run rate of six percent is a career high.
