Keon Broxton Is A 20/20 Guy Without Job
7 years agoKeon Broxton had a bad season masked by a great accomplishment in 2017. Broxton was one of only nine players to achieve both 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. The 20 HR was a feat he had not come close to achieving in any season prior. This is where the extent of Broxton's quality season ends. He hit for a .220 average and it could have been worse, considering a batting average on balls in play of .323. Broxton also had an awful strikeout rate (37.8%) and a poor contact rate (61.5). Broxton’s performance itself is justification enough to use him as a reserve outfielder, but other offseason moves further ensure this outcome. The Brewers added Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain this offseason, turning Broxton into a fifth outfielder at the very best. Broxton should only be drafted in the last rounds of a National League only or dynasty leagues as a speculation pick in hopes that he changes team and improves his play at the plate.
