Juuse Saros Sets Predators Record With 64 Saves
2 years agoNashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros produced a very special performance Thursday against Carolina, leading the team to a 5-3 victory with a franchise-record 64 saves. He became just the fourth goaltender in NHL history with at least as many saves in a regular-season contest since 1955-56 when shots became an officially tracked stat. Saros must have been mad with himself when he had allowed three goals with only half of the game played, but he was perfect for the rest of the way and stopped 39 straight shots after that. Nashville handed Carolina only the eighth regulation defeat of the season, which makes Saros' effort even more impressive. He improved his record for the campaign to 14-10-5 and has a 2.77 goals-against average with a .918 save percentage.
