Justin Verlander Posting 4.46 ERA Since June 25
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander will take the ball against the Angels at Minute Maid Park Thursday night. After getting off to a scorching start, Verlander (13-8) has come back to earth over the past few months. After posting a 2.29 ERA in the first half of the season, the right-hander has a 4.26 ERA in the second half and a 4.46 ERA over his past 12 starts. Verlander is still posting elite numbers, including a career-high 11.73 K/9 and a 0.94 WHIP. Verlander has also had his share of dominant performances against the Angels, including a complete game shutout on May 16. For the season, Verlander is 4-0 against the Angels, allowing only five runs in 29 innings with 33 strikeouts.
