Juan Soto Hits Game-Tying Home Run In Nationals Win
5 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto went 2-for-4, including a laser-beam home run in the eighth inning, as the Nationals came back to win 7-3 over the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLDS. Soto got the Nationals on the board in the sixth inning, singling home teammate Anthony Rendon to cut the deficit to 3-1 at the time. After Rendon homered off the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw in the eighth inning, Soto then sent the next pitch flying deep into the Los Angeles night to tie the game. Soto would come up two innings later but was intentionally walked to load the bases for teammate Howie Kendrick. Kendrick hit a grand slam and the Nationals get to enjoy their first playoff series win in franchise history. Soto will be counted to continue to produce against the Cardinals in the NLCS.
