Josh Tomlin Will Battle for a Starting Spot This Spring
7 years agoCleveland Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin will have to win a rotation spot in Spring Training this season. Tomlin, Mike Clevinger, and Danny Salazar will be competing for the fourth and fifth spots in the Indians rotation. Tomlin started 26 games for the Tribe last season, posting a 10-9 record with a 4.98 ERA. He doesn't post big strikeout numbers (6.96 K/9 last season), but he also rarely walks batters (0.89 BB/9 in 2017). He's a passable fifth starter in a good major league rotation, but that doesn't usually translate to fantasy value. Even if he wins a spot in the rotation, Tomlin will be a streamer at best in 2018.
