Josh Lowe To Be Shut Down For Six Days
10 months agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe (hip) has left-hip inflammation and will be shut down in camp from baseball activities for six days, and he is unlikely to play in a game for 10 to 15 days. Manager Kevin Cash said they are "not overly concerned" and don't think it will impact Lowe's status for Opening Day in late March. The 26-year-old could still be ready for Opening Day, but he basically has no room for a setback of any kind, and even if he's ready, he could be rusty early on after missing a bunch of Grapefruit League action. It's something to consider for fantasy managers, but Lowe's value shouldn't be too negatively affected as long as he doesn't miss extended time to open the season. The left-handed hitter slugged 20 homers and stole 32 bases in 2023, so he's a pretty attractive power/speed threat.
