Josh Lowe Resting Against Left-Hander
Josh Lowe is taking the day off for Monday's series opener against the visiting Houston Astros with a left-hander on the mound. Jose Caballero will start in right field and bat second against Astros lefty Colton Gordon. Meanwhile, Yandy Diaz will serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff, and Curtis Mead will start at first base and bat seventh. This will be Lowe's first game off since coming off the injured list last Thursday. The 27-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder went 5-for-17 with a home run and a double in his first four games back after straining his oblique on Opening Day back in late March. Lowe will be a lineup regular for the Rays when healthy and should be rostered in all fantasy formats for his power/speed combination. Nobody in Tampa's starting lineup on Monday has faced Gordon before.
