Josh Jung Could Start Rehab Assignment This Weekend
5 months agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) could start a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend. Jung was able to take batting practice on the field on Sunday, with manager Bruce Bochy saying later that Jung was close to facing live pitching. The skipper also said "the strength is back" in Jung's wrist. As long as the 26-year-old power-hitting third baseman doesn't suffer another setback when he starts facing live pitching this week, he should begin a rehab assignment this weekend. He's trying to return after requiring surgery on his injured wrist and remains on the 60-day injured list. The former eighth overall pick in 2019 out of Texas Tech was a first-time All-Star in 2023 in his first full league in the big leagues by hitting 23 homers and 70 RBI. Jung needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats due to his high-end power upside.
