Jose Siri, Luke Raley Take Batting Practice Monday
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays outfielders Jose Siri (hand) and Luke Raley (neck) both took part in a live batting practice session during a workout on Monday. Siri has missed the last three weeks due to a hairline fracture in his right hand. The 28-year-old said he feels ready, but it remains to be seen if he'll be included on the team's roster for the wild-card series against the Texas Rangers, which begins on Tuesday. Raley, meanwhile, has been out of action for a few weeks due to a cervical strain. Both Siri and Raley were key contributors in Tampa's outfield for the majority of the 2023 season, so hopefully they'll have at least one of them available this week against Texas. Siri hit just .222 but broke out with a career-high 25 homers and 12 stolen bases in 101 games. Raley also had a breakout in his third MLB season, hitting .249 with 19 homers, 49 RBI and 14 steals in 118 games.
