Jose Altuve Hitting .379 With Runners In Scoring Position
6 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve will lead the charge as the Astros will open up a short series in Texas on Tuesday night against the Rangers. The reigning MVP is coming off a month of June where he slashed .354/.464/.521 with 10 extra-base hits, 22 runs scored and an almost 2:1 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Altuve is also really doing damage with runners in scoring position. In 66 at-bats in those situations, Altuve has a .379 batting average with 10 doubles, 31 runs batted in and an OPS of .999. There are few holes in his game and the Rangers will have their hands full Tuesday. In 44 road games this season, Altuve is slashing .378/.435/.533 with two triples, three home runs, 15 doubles, 28 runs batted in and 34 runs scored.
