Jorge Soler Lofts 22nd Home Run
5 years agoKansas City Royals slugger Jorge Soler lifted a 3-0 fastball high into right-center field in Toronto on Sunday, and it carried just far enough to sneak over the wall. The solo shot was Soler's 22nd home run of the season, and this game will hopefully work its magic as a slump-buster to get Soler out of his 1-for-30 skid. Extended hot and cold streaks are to be expected with a hitter like Soler, who has fully embraced the approach of swinging as hard as possible every time he can. Soler's 30% strikeout rate continues to keep his batting average depressed, but it's hard to argue with 22 homers and 17 doubles before the All-Star break.
