Jorge Lopez Gets First Win Since June
5 years agoKansas City Royals pitcher Jorge Lopez was able to get bumped back into the starting rotation last week, and in his second start back, he was able to pick up a win over the lowly Orioles. Lopez has been pretty ineffective all season, carrying an ERA north of 6.00 for the vast majority of the year, but he controlled Baltimore pretty easily. He only allowed two hits and two walks over five innings, though he only struck out two along the way as well. Unfortunately, his sub-par strikeout rate, above average walk rate, and his tendency to struggle with runners on base imply that he likely won't find much success as a starter this time around either. He'll likely face a much tougher lineup against the Indians next time out.
