Jordan Mason Will Get Opportunity In Week 13
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Jordan Mason will have an expanded role in the Niners' Week 13 matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Mason joined the 49ers as an undrafted free agent this year after rushing for 2,349 yards in four years at Georgia Tech. He has only carried the ball 10 times so far this season, but he'll need to shoulder a bigger load now that Elijah Mitchell went down with his second MCL tear of the season. In Week 12, he gained 25 yards on five carries and earned a PFF grade of 91.4. He also gained 14 yards on four carries in Week 11. In those two games, he was credited with forcing three missed tackles. The 23-year-old has looked impressive in limited time this season, and he could end up being a fantasy contributor down the stretch. But it would not be advisable to start Mason in Week 13, given that his exact workload is unknown and he has not yet had more than five carries in a game.
