Jon Lester Coming Off Of Rough Season, Could Bounce-Back In 2018
7 years ago2017 was a year that Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jon Lester would like to forget. His 4.33 ERA was his highest since 2012 when he had a 4.82 ERA and a large step-back from 2016 when he had a 2.44 ERA. The lefty had six starts in which he allowed 5 or more runs, including a 10-run outing. Lester historically has been one of the more consistent and safe fantasy picks, but enters 2018 at age 34 and is more of a question mark than in previous years. Lester did miss a few starts with shoulder fatigue and left lateral tightness, but was healthy for the playoffs and pitched strong. He should drop a few rankings from previous years but still be able to return top-30 value.
