John Ross III 2020 Outlook: One More Chance In Cincy?
5 years agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross III has battled numerous ailments during his tenure in the league, missing 24 games throughout his first three seasons as a professional. After capturing 16 receptions for 328 yards and three touchdowns during the first month of the 2019 season, the 24-year-old suffered a groin injury, keeping him off the field once again until Week 14. While he did manage to secure six targets for 84 yards during the overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, he wasn't able to recapture the magic from earlier in the year that made him a potential fantasy breakout. Now, with the organization declining his Ross' fifth-year option, he may have one more shot to secure a spot on the Cincinnati roster moving ahead. He will have his work cut out of him, however, as A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and the newly drafted Tee Higgins will all be looking for the attention of rookie quarterback Joe Burrow. He is still worth a late-round draft pick, but prepare to be disappointed while also hoping for the best from the speedster this upcoming season.
