1 month agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher John Means allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings and took his 11th loss of the season Monday at Detroit. Means allowed six hits and two walks while only striking out three on the afternoon. Means had been on a roll before this start allowing only seven earned runs in his previous 27 innings across four starts so this was a disappointing effort against the lowly Tigers. Means sees his ERA rise to 3.65 though his xFIP is much higher at 5.47 with only a 19.3 percent strikeout rate. Still, Means is worth a look as a streamer this weekend in a good matchup against the Mariners.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
