John Lackey No Longer Is A Must-Draft
7 years agoJohn Lackey is a well regarded name in both real life and fantasy sports and has helped many in both over his 15-year career. Entering 2018, Lackey is still a free-agent and there were rumors following 2017 that he would retire. The 38-year-old seems like he would like a chance to compete for another season. Lackey saw his ERA rise to 4.59 after posting a 3.35 ERA in 2016. The home run ball got the best of Lackey last year as he gave up 36, which was third in the major leagues. The right-handers ratios were around his career averages, and he will be able to fill innings for your squad. Lackey may or may not pitch in 2018, but if he does he shouldn’t be considered anything more than a late-round flier or someone to watch on the waiver wire.
