5 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive August 15. Votto has not played since Wednesday due to lower back tightness. It's unclear how long Votto is going to be sidelined at the moment. Josh VanMeter is expected to draw most of the starts at first base. Brian O'Grady has been recalled from Triple-A to take the active spot on the roster. O'Grady has 27 home runs in the minors and could see playing time at first base as well.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
