6 months agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs, and two RBI in an 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. Votto hit a first-inning homer off Phillies starter Aaron Nola, giving him 14 home runs on the season. Overall, it has been a slow season for Votto, who is hitting .262 with a .767 OPS, 27 doubles, 69 runs, 43 RBI, and four steals. He has been warming up at the plate, hitting .320 with two homers over his past seven games. At this point in his career, Votto is best treated as a reserve option in fantasy leagues.--Matt Terelle - RotoBaller
