5/26:Joey Gallo, playing out of left field, couldn't muster a hit and was struck out three times in a 8-4 win over the Kansas City Royals. The three punch-outs raised Gallo's season strikeout total to 75, putting him comfortably in the lead in all of baseball. If you're playing Gallo in a league that penalizes strikeouts, you're likely pretty frustrated. The 24-year-old's approach from 2017 has actually gotten worse as he's taking a walk on just 8.6% of plate appearances. But, of course, you bought Gallo for dingers, and even that has been depressed. The rough performance brought his season line to .195/.271/.453 with just 14 home runs, certainly less than what owners hoped for. The power is still prodigious, but unless Gallo solves his approach issues, it's not likely that he'll return as much positive value as fantasy owners hoped for.--Sean Scampton - RotoBaller
