5 years agoSan Francisco Giants catching prospect Joey Bart (thumb) suffered a right thumb fracture after he was hit by a pitch in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday night. He is seeing a hand specialist on Wednesday. Bart just couldn't get away from hand injuries this year, as he also suffered a hand fracture earlier this season. The 22-year-old is San Fran's top prospect and No. 19 in baseball, per MLB.com. Bart hit a combined .278/.328/.495 with 16 home runs, 48 RBI and even five steals in 79 games with High-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond. He should be able to be healthy in time for spring training next year, but the Giants will be cautious with their top prospect.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
