1 year agoThe Minnesota Twins haven't announced who will start for them in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Saturday against the Houston Astros, but the likeliest candidates are right-hander Joe Ryan, who was scheduled to start Game 3 of the wild-card series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and righty Bailey Ober, who looked great in his final regular season start last Sunday. Ober wasn't included on the roster for the wild-card series, but the Twins have dropped hints he'll pitch at some point in the ALDS. He was sent to the minors in September for mental and physical rest, and he went 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA and 26 K's in 21 2/3 innings since returning on Sept. 15. Ryan hasn't been nearly as great since returning from the Injured List on Aug. 26, and he had a 4.79 ERA in seven second-half starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
