JJ Bleday Sitting Out Against Phillies
5 months agoOakland Athletics outfielder JJ Bleday will start Friday's game against the hosting Philadelphia Phillies on the bench with a left-hander on the mound. With Bleday getting a breather, Daz Cameron will start in center field for the A's and will bat leadoff against tough Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Bleday is hitting just .203 (12-for-59) on the year against lefties with just three of his 11 home runs on the season. The 26-year-old former fourth overall pick by the Miami Marlins in 2019 out of Vanderbilt is getting regular playing time in Oakland in his second year in the Bay Area. Aside from his 11 home runs, Bleday hasn't given fantasy managers much to work with, with 32 RBI and a .228 average (77-for-338). Cameron, even in the leadoff spot, will be avoided in most DFS lineups with his .159 average (11-for-69), three homers and six RBI.
