ESPN's NBA insider Brian Windhorst believes Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler could turn things around during the 2024-25 campaign. "Butler is going to be highly motivated," Windhorst said during his podcast. "At times, it seems like Jimmy looks for reasons not to play. And maybe that will be the prevailing situation, but I believe that Jimmy is going to be in 'killer mode' to try to prove himself to the Heat and whoever else in the league." The 34-year-old has been scrutinized over the years, especially since he's played 60 games or fewer in five of the last seven seasons. He also averaged 20.8 points last season, his lowest since 2019-20. While Butler is getting up there in age, he should look to prove his value this season, meaning it's possible he'll return to being an All-Star-caliber player.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (pelvis) is listed as probable for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Houston Rockets. The veteran star missed Game 3 of the series due to a pelvic contusion but returned for Monday's Game 4, and it appears the Warriors will have Butler III available on Wednesday night. Butler III moved a bit gingerly at times on Monday, but the pelvic injury did not affect his performance, as the six-time All-Star led the Warriors with 27 points, adding five rebounds, six assists, and one block in 40 minutes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III netted a team-high 27 points on 7-for-12 shooting in Monday's 109-106 win over the Houston Rockets. After returning to the lineup from a pelvic contusion, Butler needed some time to get going, scoring only four points in the first quarter. But he turned out to be a key figure in the contest, finishing 12-for-12 from the free-throw line and picking up five rebounds, six assists, and one block with zero turnovers in 40 minutes. With Playoff Jimmy in top form, the Warriors are well-placed to end the series in five games on Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (pelvis) is officially active for Monday's meeting with the Rockets. He also won't be on a minutes restriction. The veteran had 25 points and five steals in Game 1. Yet, he suffered a pelvic contusion the following contest, limiting him to only seven minutes and keeping him off the floor for Game 3. With Butler back in the lineup, Jonathan Kuminga will likely head back to the bench, possibly even falling out of the rotation altogether.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler (pelvis) won't play on Saturday against the Rockets. He had 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals in Game 1. However, the veteran was injured in Game 2, limiting him to only seven minutes of action. Without Butler, Moses Moody, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Brandin Podziemski should all benefit on the scoring end. Jonathan Kuminga, who had 11 points in Game 2, might also remain in the rotation, potentially even entering the starting lineup.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
