Jimmy Butler Posts 21 Points As Miami Fails To Extend Finals
2 years agoMiami Heat forward Jimmy Butler settled for 21 points as the team lost Game 5 and the NBA Finals on Monday against Denver. The Heat leader for anonymous for most of the game but was able to make himself the team's top scorer again with a late surge in the fourth quarter. With Miami down 83-76, Butler scored 13 straight points for the Heat to put the team up 89-88. However, he followed up the 13-point flurry with a bad pass and Denver was able to close out the series with a 94-89 victory. Butler finished with lowly 5-for-18 shooting from the field, but he was almost automatic at the free-throw line with a 9-for-11 effort. It was a disappointing finish to the season for Butler, who struggled to make shots throughout the Finals, but that should only act as a motivator for him for the next campaign.
