Jets, Assistant GM Rex Hogan Part Ways
11 months agoThe New York Jets and assistant general manager Rex Hogan have mutually agreed to part ways, according to a league source. Hogan just finished his fifth season as the team's assistant GM after rejoining the Jets in 2019. He previously worked as New York's senior director of college scouting in 2015-16 and then went to the Indianapolis Colts to be the team's vice president of player personnel. Hogan was a significant part of the Jets' decision-making process and worked closely with GM Joe Douglas. At this time, it's unlikely the Jets will fill Hogan's role unless it's an internal promotion. In other changes to the team's coaching staff, the Jets parted ways with running backs coach Taylor Embree and replaced wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni. The Jets replaced Embree with former Tennessee Titans assistant Tony Dews and Azzanni with receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.
