9 months agoMilwaukee Brewers No. 3 prospect Jeferson Quero (shoulder) was removed from Friday's game at Triple-A Nashville after he appeared to hurt his shoulder diving back to first base while being picked off. The severity of Quero's injury is unknown at this time, but it would be a really tough break for the Brewers and one of their top prospects if he suffered a serious injury this early in the season. The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best defensive catchers in the minors, and he hit .262/.339/.441 with a career-high 16 home runs, 49 RBI and five stolen bases in 90 games over 381 trips to the plate with Double-A Biloxi in 2023. Quero is currently blocked at the major-league level by Willson Contreras, so a trade might be best for his long-term future at the next level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
